Welcome!

[R]eligion is the single most powerful social force in the life and politics of the world today, as in nearly the whole of recorded history. - Jacob Neusner, The Way of Torah

Few topics in America generate more discussion that the role of religion in our public policies and our private lives. Samford faculty are often asked to speak on such issues, whether it’s the changing nature of American worship services or a desire to understand modern Islam. However, many groups are unaware of the different areas of faculty expertise or the process for obtaining a speaker.

The Religion Speakers Bureau at Samford University addresses these issues by facilitating the process for setting up speaking engagements.

Our faculty are prepared to speak on nearly every facet of religious life: understanding the Bible, forms of music and worship, Birmingham’s religious heritage and the Civil Rights Movement, the ethics of the death penalty, and many other current issues.

To facilitate your search for a speaker, feel free to browse by topic, speaker or calendar.

To book a speaker for your organization, or if you have questions about the Bureau, our mission, or Samford University, please go to our F.A.Q. page, call 205-726-2925, or send an e-mail to htgilber@samford.edu.

Sincerely,
