De'Niecechsi Comans Layton is a historian for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
She provides reference aid to genealogists and historians who visit the Archives and assists with staff training.
She has been with the Archives since 1995 and with Reference Services since 1997. She received her BS from Belhaven College.
De'Niecechsi is a member of several genealogical and historical societies. She is the current Corresponding
Secretary and Editor of the Mississippi Genealogical Society Newsletter. She has presented programs for local,
state and regional societies. De'Niecechsi has been working on her personal genealogy for sixteen years. Her
genealogical interests include land research and research in Mississippi and Missouri.
