Kay Haviland Freilich is a Certified Genealogist and Certified Genealogical Lecturer. She authored the NGS publication Research in Pennsylvania, co-authored "Business, Institution, and Organization Records" in The Source, third edition. Her primary research interests are colonial Pennsylvania and the Society of Friends. She has lectured on a variety of topics at local, regional, and national conferences. She is currently a trustee of the Board for Certification of Genealogists and a vice-president of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and is a former president of BCG. She has been an instructor in the "Advanced Library Research: Law Libraries and Government Documents" course since 2006. Her entry, "In Her Own Words," won the 2009 National Genealogical Society Family History Writing Contest.
