Billie Stone Fogarty is a full-time professional genealogist, lecturer, and instructor. She is author of Guidebook to Researching My Family Tree. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Genealogists and is President of the Genealogical Speakers Guild. She is the Oklahoma state liaison for the Records Preservation and Access Committee and has served many years on the state boards of Oklahoma Genealogical Society and Oklahoma Historical Society.

Billie speaks frequently at national conferences (both NGS and FGS) and state and local conferences and workshops. For several years she has taught genealogy courses at adult education and technology centers. She was the instructor for Proving Native American Ancestry for Family Tree University and has several courses online for FamilySearch Learning Center.

Her early career teaching history has aided her interest in family history and emphasized the importance of life-long learning. She has completed courses at IGHR, NIGR, SLIG, as well as various courses both online and at national and state conferences.
