Patricia Coleman

Portrait of Patricia Coleman

Lecturer: Course 8

Patricia Coleman has done genealogical research with members of her family for over 50 years. She has helped many people with their research as a Family History Center worker, as a friend, and professionally.

As Family History Center Director for five years, Pat conducted and presented many subjects at eight Family History Seminars, open to the public, at the LDS Church here in Birmingham. At Kent Lewis's request Pat has been a liaison between the Family History Center in Birmingham and the Birmingham African American Genealogy Study Group, starting that assignment when the organization was new.

Pat has both taken and taught many classes in the area of African American research, including the last IGHR class on African American Research. Pat's specialties include American, Canadian, Irish, Scandinavian and African American research.
