Earl Charvet is a professional researcher, genealogist, and lecturer residing in Kansas City, Missouri. His specialty is French records and ancestral research in France. He conducts work in repositories across France, including the National Archives of France, numerous departmental, municipal, and military archives, as well as French genealogy societies, university research libraries, and private collections in France. He attends national genealogical conferences in Paris and elsewhere.
His work also takes him to large number of other research facilities, including those located in the United Kingdom, western Canada, and the U.S., especially in the Upper Midwest and Pacific Coast.
Among recent engagements, Mr. Charvet has presented lectures at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the National Genealogy Society Family History Conference, and regional genealogical organizations. In 2006, he was a member of the faculty at Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research (IGHR) at Samford University for its French Research Course, for which he is acting as coordinator in 2009. Mr. Charvet regularly provides personal advice and assistance on all facets of French research (by
appointment) as a volunteer at the Midwest Genealogy Center, one of the largest genealogical research facilities in America.
Previously, Mr. Charvet was employed as a senior executive in finance and business systems for an energy subsidiary of a major French corporation in New York. He also spoke nationally at conferences and at corporations on business technology issues.
