B.A., Brigham Young University
Lecturer: Course 8
Lisa's interest in genealogy stems from her Quaker heritage. Her families on both sides were Quakers,
arriving in this country in the days of William Penn from Wales and England. She was raised in the Quaker religion,
attended Quaker schools, and was married in a Quaker wedding ceremony in a Quaker Meetinghouse near Philadelphia.
She completed an internship (2004) at Swarthmore College; working with the Quaker collection housed there.
Lisa has written a book on doing research in Quaker records entitled Finding Your Quaker Ancestors.
Lisa is a professional genealogist, author and lecturer. She is the founder of the Philadelphia area APG chapter,
coordinator of the Utah Valley APG chapter, and former director of the Valley Forge Family History Center. She co-chaired
the Philadelphia African-American Family History Conference in 2005. She received a B.A. in Family and Community History from
Brigham Young University in 2006. She is a specialist in Quaker History and Quaker Records.
Lisa is currently employed at The Generations Network (Ancestry.com) as a Content Specialist.
Her areas of expertise include African-American, Native American, church records and Jewish records.
Lisa has five children and grandchildren (so far).
