The Samford University German Program offers a comprehensive program of German courses leading to three Majors (Language & Literature, Language & World Trade, Teacher Certification) and a Minor in German with study abroad courses and opportunities. Samford has an active German Club, a Stammtisch and a German Honor Society. Students can major in one or two languages and choose German as the Minor for the Major in International Relations.

Instruction is proficiency / content oriented. You will learn to speak, write, read and listen in German and learn all about the culture of the German speaking countries. Classes are fun and challenging and students enjoy using their German in a positive enriching environment. Courses are oriented to connect with other fields of study and to enhance your marketability. Graduates with 2,3 and 4 years of German study regularly enjoy excellent career opportunities and preparation for Graduate Study. Studying German enhances your career opportunities. There are an increasing number of companies seeking employees with German language skills to partake in their international ventures.

Faculty is very student friendly and take great pride in their careful and personal advising strategy. The program director's office door is always open to help German students gain the most from their University experience at Samford and their study of German.
