    • UNEP, GRID and environmental data - Links to the world's major geo-spatial data collection and distribution centers.
    • UNEP/GRID - Geneva - UNEP/GRID Geneva maintains a large and actively growing archive of over 1 million geographic datasets.
    • ESRI Data - Provides a searchable database for downloadable GIS data.
    • Manifold - Offers GIS and GPS software packages, as well as add-ins for Microsoft Access, free Tiger data and maps, etc.
    • TerraServer - TerraServer hosts the world's largest online database. It's a huge repository of aerial photographs and satellite images taken from miles overhead that you can view and, if you want, purchase.
    • GISLinx Data Links - GISLinx data section has numerous links to other data depots and archive sites.
    • R&D center ScanEx - R&D center ScanEx specializes in area of satellite remote sensing data acquisition and distribution and offers archived images from the Resurs-O1 satellite and the OMS-2P camera onboard the MIR station.

    • MicroDEM is a Windows NT or 95 package for displaying and merging DLGs, DEMs, other gridded data, and satellite imagery.
    • The University of Hawaii School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology has produced a mapping package called GMT (Generic Mapping Tools).
    • AGIS for Windows is a mapping and simple GIS package specifically designed to be easy to use. The available 32 bit version is designed for Windows 95, 98 and NT.
    • InFoCAD GIS Pro is a COGO-based GIS software that combines imaging, graphics, database, and analysis functions into one package.
    • SPRING (Georeferenced Information Processing System) is a GIS and remote sensing image processing system with an object-oriented data model which provides for the integration of raster and vector data representations in a single environment. Freeware available.

    • TatukGIS This download is a free executable that calculates datums and projections coordinates. This address bypasses the registration process.
    • Silicon Spaceships . GeoVirgil is a program that allows you to view NASA .PDS data, which are satellite imagery of venus, earth, the moon, etc. These images can be downloaded for free from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA JPL) or written to CD for a low cost. The software allows you to set different coordinate systems, export images into .jpg, view scalebars, etc.
