The Pastor As Shepherd

TFTGroup

The Pastor As Shepherd is a nine-month program offered in the fall and spring semesters.  Designed to give clergy an opportunity to develop or refresh basic pastoral skills, its goal is to help pastors become more effective shepherds of their congregations. Our partner, Samaritan Counseling Center, provides qualified personnel to lead the program.

Program components include:

      • Professional skills development
      • Pastoral Care Theology and Principles
      • Basics of Peter Steinke's "Healthy Congregations" methods
      • Mentor follow-up

 TFTDiscussion

Upon completion of the program, ministers receive recognition as a Pastoral Care Specialist, a recognized category within the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
