Day Apart - Women Solo and Senior Pastors

WIMTft

The Resource Center for Pastoral Excellence offers a program uniquely designed for women who are senior or solo pastors.  Each year several "Days Apart" focus on fellowship with other women who share a similar journey, conversations with noted women authors, and personal spiritual formation.  If you are a senior or solo pastor, experience rest and renewal in the company of others whose journey is akin to yours.

With Guest Presenter Dr. Lauren Winner
Associate Professor of Christian Spirituality at Duke Divinity School

 Lauren Winner

Lauren F. Winner is the author of three books, Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath, and Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity. She has appeared on PBS's Religion & Ethics Newsweekly and has written for The New York Times Book Review, The Washington Post Book World, Publishers Weekly, Books and Culture, and Christianity Today. Winner has degrees from Duke, Columbia, and Cambridge universities, and holds a Ph.D. in history. The former book editor for Beliefnet, Lauren teaches at Duke Divinity School, and lives in Durham, North Carolina. Lauren travels extensively to lecture and teach.  When she's home, you can usually find her curled up, on her couch or screen porch, with a good novel.

After her conversion from Orthodox Judaism to Christianity, Lauren Winner found that her life was indelibly marked by the rich traditions and spiritual practices of Judaism.  She set out to discover how she could incorporate some of these practices into her new faith.

Winner's book Mudhouse Sabbath will serve as the 'starting place' for our conversation around these of spiritual formation and pastoral leadership.

Pre-registrants will receive a complimentary copy of one of Dr. Winner's newest books, Mudhouse Sabbath
