RUTH LONEGRAN ADAMS '50, M.S.E.
'67, age 75, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Clinton, S.C. She was a high
school physics and chemistry teacher in Birmingham.
JERRY PATRICK ALBANO '66 of Vestavia Hills, 58, died Oct. 10,
2000. He was an owner of Albano's Pharmacy in Bessemer for 30
years. He was a member of the National Football League Player's
Association and represented many football players from the state
of Alabama.
MARION CLAUDIE BRITTON of Alexander City, 82, died Oct. 27, 2000.
He was a postman.
ELOISE CARTER '35 of Chico, Calif., died June 3, 2000. He was
87.
DILLIE ALLDREDGE DAILY '38 died July 9, 2000. She was a retired
teacher.
LOLA HARRIS EATON M.S.E. '70 of Birmingham, 75, died Sept. 24,
2000. She was a retired teacher with the Jefferson County School
System, and owned and operated Tri-J Christian Academy.
JAMES IVERSON GERALD '55 of Birmingham, 66, died Oct. 25, 2000.
He was retired from the Birmingham Board of Education.
Rev. JIM LAWTON, Sr. '33 of Conway, S.C., 95, died Oct. 31, 2000.
He served various pastorates and was director of missions in
three South Carolina associations. Lawton was president of the
South Carolina Baptist Convention in 1978 and served as vice
president of Anderson College. He was active in community and
civic affairs.
PATRICIA MYER MCKINNON '90 of Birmingham, 59, died Nov. 7, 2000.
She was director of East Lake United Methodist Church Counseling
Center.
WILLIAM JOSEPH (Bill) MILLING '65 of Helena, 58, died Oct. 19,
2000. He was a pharmacist for 35 years in the Birmingham area,
most recently at Bruno's Pharmacy.
RICHARD POE '54 of Marietta, Ga., 67, died Nov. 13, 2000. He
was retired controller of the Sears regional parts pool in Tucker,
Ga. He and his wife, Gay Smith Poe, owned Stump & Sons catering
and food service.
THEO BESS SMITH '46, age 74,
died March 17, 2000. She worked for the U.S. Weather Bureau for
17 years, beginning during World War II. She taught in Pinellas
County, Fla., schools for 24 years. She was a member of Phi Mu
sorority.
RICHARD LEE TAYLOR L'66 of Birmingham, 60, died Sept. 10, 2000.
He was an attorney in the Birmingham area.
SUSAN CHAMBERS WEIR '71 of Birmingham died Aug. 30, 2000. She
was a hospital administrator at Hill Crest Hospital, Baptist
Health System, Inc., corporate offices and Children's Hospital.
