A University of Character
Dr. Thomas E. Corts
Transformational Experience
New Samford Provost Brad Creed believes a Samford education can become
a life-changing experience, if a student desires. He also believes "loving
to learn is basic to good teaching."
46-Year Man
Sigurd Bryan started teaching when Samford was Howard College in East
Lake. The religion professor retired in May after 46 years on the faculty.
But he's already accepted a part-time post at the school: directing Samford
Sunday.
Protecting Intellectual
Property
Some "intellectual property," such as ideas and information
passed down by word of mouth, is hard to copyright or patent. Cumberland
law professor Paul Kuruk will study more effective ways to do this as
part of his research this fall as a Fulbright Scholar.
Samford Teaching Legacy
Alabama Teacher of the Year Betsy Rogers '74 always wanted to teach. She
credits Samford, where she's earned four degrees, and her grandmother,
who attended the school in 1916, for providing expertise and inspiration.
