Interior Design Gets FIDER
Accreditation
The
Samford interior design program has received accreditation
by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research,
making it one of only about 130 FIDER-accredited programs
in the U.S. and Canada.
Among the features cited by FIDER was the program's close academic
relationship with the University's art department. Interior design
majors are required to have a strong foundation in art.
FIDER is a specialized accrediting agency for interior design
programs at universities and colleges in North America. It stresses
promoting interior design education through research and accreditation.
The interior design program is part of Samford's Department of
Human Sciences and Design, located in the Orlean Bullard Beeson
School of Education and Professional Studies. |
