Linda W. Ables (World Languages and Cultures) will study Spanish pedagogy at the University of Alcala in Spain this summer on a full scholarship provided by the Sampere Institute and the Education Office of the Spanish Embassy, Washington, D.C.

Jennifer Coleman (Nursing) was a chapter contributor to a recently published Prentice Hall book, Child Health Nursing: Reviews & Rationales.

Dr. Joseph Dean (dean, Pharmacy) presented a keynote address, and Dr. Mary Monk-Tutor (Pharmacy) presented two workshops on problem-based learning at the pharmacy school of Utrecht University, Utrecht, Netherlands, in February. The program celebrated creation of a new pharmacy curriculum.

Dr. Ginger Frost (History) was elected president of the Southern Conference on British Studies for 2002-03. She will preside over meetings in Baltimore and Houston. Frost has received a $24,000 residential fellowship to study at the National Humanities Center in Triangle Park, N.C., during 2002-03. The highly competitive fellowship (35 were awarded to 474 applicants) will support her study of cohabitation in 19th century England.

Dr. Valerie Prince (Pharmacy) was installed as president of Phi Lambda Sigma pharmacy leadership society during the organization's March meeting in Philadelphia. The society has chapters at 80 of the nation's 82 pharmacy schools.

Dr. Condit Steil (Pharmacy) was selected a 2002 Fellow of the American Pharmaceutical Association by the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management Awards Committee. He was recognized at the annual meeting in Philadelphia in March.
