MAJEL MANGUM ROBISON lives in La Jolla, Calif. A retired psychologist and Christian counselor, she holds a master's degree in education and a Ph.D. in mental health. She is active in her retirement community and teaches a weekly Bible Study class. A Delta Zeta at Samford, she is a long-distance member of the Belvedere Club, which has met monthly since the 1930s.

JOHN S. MOORE, Jr., of Richmond, Va., retired in 2001 as editor of The Virginia Baptist Register, the publication of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society. He had held the post since 1972. During that time, he researched and wrote 31 scholarly articles. He was president of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society and the Southern Baptist Historical Society.

CHARLES EDWARD NIAGER and his wife, Wilene, have lived in the Chattanooga, Tenn., area since his retirement as a comptroller. His brother, JONES NIAGER '42, editor of the 1942 Entre Nous, died three years ago after teaching literature in Atlanta-area schools. Both brothers were European-theater combat infantrymen in World War II.

A bivocational pastor at seven churches and founding pastor at three, he is now pastor of Dryad Baptist Church near Rainbow Falls Park. She is a church musician.

FRED C. SCHLICHTER of Birmingham recently completed continuing education requirements of the Medical Transcription Certification Commission. A retired certified medical transcriptionist, he is a 58-year member of the oldest American Legion post in Alabama, and a life member of the National Association of Federal Employees and Disabled American Veterans.

HERBERT JAMES COLLIER of Mobile earned a doctor of ministry degree in August from Covington Theological Seminary. He is pastor of Malcolm Baptist Church and professor of Bible at the seminary extension.

Cumberland Honors Crittenden, Marsh
	Birmingham attorneys Judith Crittenden L'70 and David H. Marsh L'81 received alumni awards from Samford's Cumberland School of Law during Law Reunion Weekend in March. Crittenden received the Distinguished Alumna Award as a graduate outstanding in law practice, community service and leadership in the profession. She is senior partner in the Crittenden & Martin law firm.
During her 30-year career, she has served as the first female assistant district attorney and first female acting judge in Jefferson County. She was also the first female president of the Cumberland National Alumni Association. Marsh received the Volunteer of the Year Award for exceptional service to Cumberland and its constituents. A trial lawyer, he is founder of the firm, Marsh, Rickard & Bryan, P.C. He has handled cases in every Alabama county and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He serves on the Cumberland Annual Fund steering committee and is an adviser and presenter for the school's Continuing Legal Education program.

KELLY GURLEY LAMBERT, professor and chair of the psychology department at Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Va., received an Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and a $5,000 prize awarded by the General Assembly. Her research centers on unlocking the scientific connections to behavior and the impact of environment on the brain. She and her husband, Gary, have two daughters, Lara, eight, and Skylar, four.
CARL THIGPEN, M.B.A., of Birmingham was recently named senior vice president, chief mortgage and real estate officer of Protective Life Corporation and its principal subsidiaries. A 17-year veteran with the company, he will be responsible for management of Protective's $3 billion commercial mortgage loan portfolio.
KIMBERLEE DAWN TUNNELL lives in Saraland. She had a kidney and liver transplant in June.

Actress Alumna visits Samford Theatre Actress Linda Pierson Huff '89 visits Samford to chat with theater majors while in Birmingham with the national touring production of the musical, Les Miserables.
