Make Plans Now for Family Weekend

Samford’s Family Weekend, Oct. 1-3, will feature a variety of activities, including football, golf, a barbecue picnic, music and a Parents Association meeting.

Schedule of Events

• The Student Showcase of performing groups will lead off the weekend Friday at 8 p.m., followed by a dessert reception.

• Samford will host Eastern Kentucky in an Ohio Valley Conference football game Saturday at 6 p.m. in Seibert Stadium. A barbecue dinner and pep rally will precede the game.

• Saturday morning is reserved for family time, with the option to take part in a golf tournament beginning at 8 a.m. Family Symposia information sessions are scheduled from 2 until 3 p.m.

• The Parents Association will meet on Saturday from 3 until 4 p.m.

• The Sunday schedule includes worship at 10 a.m., brunch/lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the annual Old Song Sing-Along at 2:30 p.m. in Reid Chapel.

Registration and hotel information has been mailed to parents.

Be sure to make hotel reservations early to avoid conflict with other events, such as the annual Talladega NASCAR race.
