Gospel music legends R. W. Blackwood and Bill Lyles died in an airplane
crash on June 30, 1954 in Clanton, Ala. On Aug. 22, 2004, Samford University
will observe the 50th anniversary of the tragedy by hosting a Blackwood
Brothers Memorial Tribute featuring:
- Blackwood Brothers Reunion Quartet with Bill Shaw and James Blackwood,
Jr.
- Holy Destiny
- Shades Mountain Air
- Shades Mountain Gospel Quartet
- Vintage photos, audio and video of the Blackwood Brothers
