Mercedes Marathon, February 13, 2005Many braved the chilly, rainy weather on February 12th to come out to the Mercedes Marathon. Samford was a corporate sponsor for the event and hosted the mile of trail across from the campus. Some of Samford’s staff members and students participated in either the full or half marathon or the relay. The Samford Marathon Relay Team finished the race in 3 hours and 47 minutes, placing sixth. In addition to all of the participants, Samford had many students volunteer their time to working the mile. Volunteers passed out drinks and energy packets as they cheered on the runners. Their smiling faces kept the runners going as they ran along Samford’s mile of the race. (Bill Mathews contributed photos for this album.) |
