Caroline

Caroline is a freshman from Nicholasville, TN. Caroline is the recipient of several impressive scholarships, including the Presidential scholarship and a scholarship from the American Cancer Society. She is very involved in missions and was a tutor for Hispanic children in her community for two years. While she is still undecided about her career path, she knows that she wants to incorporate mission work into her life. In her spare time, Caroline enjoys creating art

 

Lindsey

Lindsey is a freshman journalism and mass communication major from Memphis, TN. Lindsey aspires to work in the advertising industry and enjoys teaching ESL classes at her church, writing poetry, and playing golf.

Margaret

Margaret is a freshman journalism and mass communications major from Louisville, Kentucky. She has participated in several mission trips, including a medical mission to La Paz, Honduras. She is the recipient of several prestigious scholarships for leadership, academics, and journalism. Margaret is also a member of the sorority Alpha Delta Pi and writes for Samford's newspaper, The Crimson. She aspires to have a career in advertising, journalism, or public relations one day.

Stephanie

Stephanie is a freshman biology major from Huntsville, AL. She is the recipient of several impressive scholarships, including one for leadership. Stephanie enjoys volunteering and aspires to incorporate her love for Latin American culture with biology as a teacher, researcher, or missionary.

 

Kevin

Kevin is a freshman from Mobile, AL. He enjoys volunteering, missions work, photography and writing. A recipient of the prestigious Presidential scholarship, Kevin aspires to work with missions to reach Hispanic people in the United States or Latin America.

       

Jane Marie

Jane Marie Hutcheson is a freshman communication studies major from Montgomery, AL. A recipient of the prestigious Beeson Scholarship, Jane Marie is a member of the Samford Mock Trial Team, director of the Freshman Ladies Step Sing show, and is involved in SGA as a member of both Freshman Forum and Senate. She also teaches ESL classes at her church. Jane Marie loves photography, working with children, and sitting on the quad on sunny days.

Mallory

Mallory is a freshman biochemistry and Spanish major from Fayetteville, GA. In high school, she started her own non-profit called Heartworks, which gives financial help to students wanting to go on mission trips. Mallory is also a recipient of the prestigious Presidential scholarship and enjoys volunteering, playing volleyball and designing her own clothes in her spare time. Mallory aspires to be a trauma surgeon and a medical missionary.

 

Taylor

Taylor is a freshman from Asheville, NC. The recipient of a leadership scholarship at Samford, Taylor is involved in intramurals and Shiloh. In her spare time, Taylor enjoys playing the djembe, a drum played with bare hands.

   

Rebecca

Rebecca is a freshman from Georgetown, KY. She currently receives several impressive scholarships, including one for leadership. Rebecca is uncertain as to what career path she would like to pursue, but she enjoys playing sports, volunteering and watching documentaries about different people groups.

Reed

Reed is a freshman from Nashville, TN. Reed plays intramurals at Samford and plans to get involved with Samford's favorite tradition, Step Sing. While she is still unsure of what her career path will be, she enjoys continuing to learn more about her faith.

Kelsie

Kelsie is a freshman Spanish major from Vestavia Hills, AL. She is currently a member of Samford's Spanish Club, after having served as her high school's Spanish Club president. In her spare time, she enjoys making jewelry. Kelsie aspires to become a Spanish translator.

Alexis

Alexis is a freshman pre-med student from Tracy City, TN. She volunteers with Northstar Ministries in her spare time and aspires to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit one day. Her hobbies include scrapbooking and watching Animal Planet

         

Abby

Abby is a freshman mathematics and Spanish major from Jacksonville, FL. She leads Bible studies for eighth grade girls; volunteers with Holly Brook Homes, a living community for families starting anew; and plays soccer. A recipient of the prestigious Presidential scholarship, Abby hopes to become a mathematics teacher for Spanish-speaking students.

Kyle

Kyle is a freshman from Tupelo, MS. A recipient of the prestigious Presidential scholarship, Kyle enjoys serving on mission trips and volunteering at a local Hispanic program in his hometown. While he is still undecided about his career path, he is certain that he wants to incorporate his passion for Spanish into whatever career he decides to pursue

Ashley

Ashley is a freshman Spanish major from Pensacola, Florida.  She has received an Academic Scholarship.  Ashley is involved in missions with the Christian Light Foundation in Costa Rica.  She loves working with middle school children at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.  Ashley is passionate about dancing and is a member of Grace dance ministry.  She hopes to be a Spanish teacher.

Jenae'

Jenae' is a freshman from Montgomery, Alabama.  Jenae', a pre-law student, has chosen to major in Psychology and minor in both Spanish and Latin American Studies. She is the recipient of several scholarships such as the Presidential Scholarship, the National Merit Scholarship and the Spirit of Montgomery County Junior Miss Scholarship. Jenae' is on Samford's Debate Team (currently 15th in the Nation), Mock Trial Team, Ultimate Frisbee Team, and Gospel Choir. She is going on her first mission trip this January to Guatemala.
