Important information for the board of trustees, the president’s platform party, and representatives of colleges and universities, learned societies and professional organizations, accrediting agencies, research institutions, the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.

Inauguration Breakfast
Beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Ralph W. Beeson University Center Dining Hall

By invitation and advance reservations only.  Please return the response form which you received to make reservations.

There will be no formal program at the breakfast.

Regalia/Procession

Official delegates and program guests should bring regalia to the breakfast.  Regalia will be delivered for you to the appropriate location for robing.  Regalia check-in begins at 7 a.m. in the Tailbird Circle lobby of Ralph W. Beeson University Center.

Members of the board of trustees, program personnel and the president’s official party will robe in Harwell G. Davis Library.  Faculty marshals will be available to assist you.  In the event of rain, the procession will organize in the corridors of Leslie Stephen Wright Fine Arts Center.

Official delegates will robe in Memory Leake Robinson Hall.  Faculty marshals will be available to assist you.  In the event of rain, the procession will organize in the corridors of Leslie Stephen Wright Fine Arts Center.

Delegates should arrive on campus by 9 a.m. to ensure adequate time to be in place for the procession and ceremony.

Accessibility

Because of the campus landscape, guests can expect some stairs and mild climbing.   Handicapped accessibility is available for the breakfast and the investiture ceremony.  The procession will be an 8-10 minute walk from robing locations to ceremony location.  If you are unable to make this brief walk, please contact the University Relations office, (205) 726-2331, for assistance with alternate arrangements.

Parking/Shuttles

Parking will be available and clearly marked for inauguration guests.  Shuttles will be available beginning at 7 a.m. to take delegates to the breakfast.
