Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthrophy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness and we have partnered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Our chapter contributes in so many ways to help better our philanthrophy. ZTA makes “Think Pink” baskets to take to breast cancer patients at various hospitals around the Birmingham area.

Also, ZTA puts on “Storm the Dorms” where the members of the ZTA sorority go all over campus to girl’s dorms and hand out self-examination cards, as well as talk with the girls about our philanthropy and how they can spread awareness of breast cancer throughout the Birmingham area.

This year we also be sponsored an event called “Paint the Town Pink.” We set up booths at Brookwood Mall and Ben Brown Plaza. We took up donations, passed out ribbons, as well as shower cards to get the word out about breast cancer education and awareness. We asked everyone who donated money to wear pink on April 21st to support the cause.

As a chapter we also participate in the “Race for the Cure” that takes place annually. We show our support by wearing pink shirts and cheering on the participants in the race with pink pom poms. Many of our own girls actually participate in the race themselves!
