Life in college can be hectic. It can be overwhelming and stressful, and sometimes it gets the better of us. It’s in these times, when we’re exhausted from a long week of studying and frustrated by our busy schedules, that our Zeta Tau Alpha sisters are important. We are bound to each other not only by our letters, but also by the genuine friendships that develop throughout our time together. One of the most fun ways that we foster these friendships is through sisterhood retreats!

A “retreat” can be defined in so many ways. Sometimes it’s a movie night complete with popcorn and 35 of our best friends lounging around the chapter room. It could be an overnight getaway in a cozy cabin where we play silly games and watch old Step Sing shows! Or maybe we jump into a foam pit for a few hours and embrace our exciting futures as Olympic gymnasts.

Whatever we do, the point of a ZTA sisterhood retreat is to spend time together as sisters and as friends. We enjoy each other’s company, and we recognize the unique qualities in each of us that complement one another. We grow in our friendships and we develop lifelong bonds because we take the time to learn about each other and appreciate our differences. Trust me, now that we’ve done synchronized tumbling with our sisters, there’s nothing we can’t do together.
