Fundraising is a vital part of what makes Zeta Tau Alpha such an amazing sorority. Without fundraising our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, would not be what it is today. Our Delta Psi chapter recognizes the importance of Breast Cancer Education & Awareness. Every girl in our sorority plays a part in fundraising whether it is setting up, getting supplies, or advertising an event.
This past spring, Delta Psi had two fundraisers -- letter writing and an event titled, “Paint the Town Pink.” Each girl in Delta Psi sent letters to women they cared for. In our letters we discussed important ways to prevent breast cancer. Our second fundraiser in the spring, “Paint the Town Pink,” entailed girls from our sorority advertising Breast Cancer Education & Awareness in the community and on campus. There were tables set up at a local mall, as well as our Samford’s quad. We handed out breast cancer awareness ribbons and asked for everyone to wear pink the following Monday to show support for our philanthropy. Not only did an enormous amount of people wear pink, but we raised a significant amount in donations.
We have more fundraisers planned for this upcoming year and are looking forward to continuing to collect money for our very important philanthropy! We thank everyone who has helped us whether it is through time, work, or donations.
