IMPORTANT FORM for GRADUATION CANDIDATES
(Undergraduate Only):
Application for Undergraduate Degree
Undergraduates who plan to graduate in Fall 2009 (December) should have already completed the above form and turned it in to the Office of Student Records. If you have not done so, please come by the Student Records Office as soon as possible.
Undergraduates who plan to graduate in Spring 2010 (May) should have completed the above form and turned it in to the Office of Student Records by October 1, 2009. However, applications for Spring 2010 graduation will be accepted throughout the fall and spring.
Not sure of the code for your major, minor, or concentration (or even your degree)?

Candidates who missed the deadlines posted above should still complete an application and submit it to Student Records as soon as possible!
At this time, graduate students do not need to complete the above form. Your graduate school will submit a list of graduation candidates for that term to the Student Records Office. However, graduate students should check their Samford e-mail accounts for communications from our office, such as the Diploma Name e-mail (response required from student) and the Steps to Graduation e-mail (with
information on the ceremony and cap & gown orders, etc.).

Henry David Thoreau said, "A name pronounced is the recognition of the individual to whom it belongs. He who can pronounce my name aright, he can call me, and is entitled to my love and service." Like Thoreau, we understand the importance of pronouncing names correctly, and we want to pronounce your name "aright" at graduation. If you will be in attendance at the Commencement ceremony, and if you think it is necessary or would be helpful, please visit the Dean of your respective school or college to give instructions on correct pronunciation, perhaps including a phonetic spelling of your name.
We look forward to seeing you at Commencement!
Sincerely,
Paul Aucoin, Dean of Academic Services and Registrar
