Changing Your Major?

On average, 70% of all students change their major at least once in their college career, so if you are considering doing so you are not alone! As you mature, it is to be expected that your interests and career goals should evolve. The counselors in the Career Development Center can help you evaluate whether another major would suit your skills and interests better. Here are some questions a career counselor might ask you:

• Do you know all of the career options for your current major?
• Have you talked with someone or had experience in the career field you are currently interested in?
• Do you have enough hours in your current major to minor in it should you choose to change?

To officially change your major, you must fill out a "Change of Major" form. These can be obtained from the Student Records Office or the Deparment whose major you wish to declare.
