Submitting a Nomination

The Alabama Men’s Hall of Fame issues a call for nominations early each calendar year to recognize men native to or identified most closely with the state that  have made significant contributions on a state, national, or international scale.  Nominees must have been deceased for at least two years to be eligible for consideration.

A deadline for submitting nominations is generally set for early March and is announced with the call for nominations through a press release.  The deadline is also posted on the Home Page of this website.   

Nominations are generally reviewed in March by a Selection Committee designated by Alabama Men’s Hall of Fame board members.  The committee’s recommendations (with a list of all nominees) are then submitted to the full Board in April for a final vote.  The formal induction ceremony is held each year during September in Birmingham.
