  • Teacher Education Department - Technology - Classrooms in K-12 schools have technology capabilities that we are not able to teach our graduates. We need to have access to the technologies available in the public schools. In secondary education this means state-of-the-art academic resources already used in the disciplines of mathematics, language arts, history and biology. Especially for use by assessment classes, software designed to help our teacher candidates become proficient in use of student self-monitoring resources in the classroom as a motivational tool.
  • Exercise Science and Sports Medicine Department - Research - Undergraduate research has recently become an emphasis in many universities nationwide, and the ESSM Department is on the leading edge this trend. Each year, ESSM students develop their own research projects and carry out all aspects of the research process, including professional presentation and, in some cases, publication. As the ESSM Department attempts to increase the quality of research in the department it would be beneficial to have funding to support research projects and faculty who advise these projects. Summer research internships would move the ESSM Department to the forefront of undergraduate research across the nation. Financial support is essential for this vision to become a reality.
  • Family Studies - Video Capabilities in OBB 118 - Within our program there is a great emphasis on presentation skills. It would be beneficial to our students to video tape their presentation and/or community education programs to increase the quality of our student presentations. Also, with the move toward pod casts, this equipment could be used to video lectures, guest speakers, etc., so that students could access them at a later date.
