jycarter@samford.eduJanica York Carter has almost two decades of experience in print publications. She has worked in Samford's Office of University Relations since 1999. For seven years before coming to Samford, she edited books for Oxmoor House, the book division of neighboring Southern Progress Corporation. She held internships on the copy desks at Southern Living and U.S. News & World Report as well as an internship at a local printing company. She graduated cum laude from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in English, and minors in art and business. She is a member of the Religion Communicators Council and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and is a former board member for the local chapter of the International Association for Business Communicators. She has attended national copyediting and book publishing conferences. She wrote a chapter for The Urban Knitter in addition to editing a national crochet newsletter, Chain Link.
