maparris@samford.eduAndy returned to WVSU as General Manager in 2004, the same position he held as a student in the early 90's. After graduation from Samford as a journalism and mass communication major in 1993, Andy worked in radio news for 10 years. He joined WBBN-FM in Laurel, Miss. in 1994 as news director, earning several news reporting awards from the Mississippi Associated Press. In 1996, he returned to Birmingham as a news reporter for Citadel Broadcasting, and soon after joined the Alabama Radio Network, working as both a news anchor and sports talk show producer.
Andy rejoined Samford in 1997 as a volunteer public address announcer for the new women's basketball program. He is now P.A. announcer for women's and men's basketball, football and baseball.
He is a Birmingham native and a 1989 graduate of Ramsay High School.
