Dr. James P. Reburn, is Associate Dean and Professor of Accounting with the Brock School of Business at Samford University.  He received his doctorate in Accountancy from Louisiana Tech University.  He earned is MAcc. and B.S. in Accountancy from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  Jim currently teaches accounting information systems.

Prior to joining the faculty at Samford University, Jim taught at the University of Missouri at St. Louis and at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds permit to practice in the State of Alabama.  He is a member of several professional associations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, and Alabama Society of CPAs.

His research interests are focused on the economic consequences of accounting standard setting.  He is the author of several articles appearing in national and international publications including the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Financial Research, Advances in Accounting, Bank Accounting & Finance, and Journal of Learning in Higher Education
