Carrie Anna Pearce is the Director of the Academic Internship Program, established in the School of Business in 1990. Her experiential education career began in 1980 as a post-graduate student at UAB. She came to Samford in 1990 after ten years in a similar capacity at Birmingham-Southern College. She holds an undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College and a graduate degree from Baylor University.
In 2000, Carrie Anna presented Best Practices for Academic Internship Programs at the annual conference of the National Society for Experiential Education, and this year she will present The Internship Triangle: A Partnership of Student, Academy and Business Organization.
In 1996, she was selected as a participant in the annual international seminar conducted by Richard Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute. She is listed annually as a resource for life-work planning in this best-selling book. From 2001-2006 she served as a consultant regarding life-work planning with The Center for Leadership Development in both Armenia and Ukraine.
