Samford Volunteers to Help Build Habitat for Humanity House Dec. 5
Samford University students, faculty and staff will help build a Habitat for Humanity house in Wylam Saturday, Dec. 5. The volunteers will work on the project, located in the Wylam Oaks section, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Construction will start on the new house on Michigan Avenue with a groundbreaking Thursday, Dec. 3. When completed, it will provide a home for Tiffani Whitehead and her three children.
Samford has supported the Habitat for Humanity program for a number of years through contributions and volunteer efforts. Founded by the late Millard Fuller in 1976, the international nonprofit program provides decent, affordable housing for people in need.
