Big Wins Highlight Big Week in Sports
Samford's volleyball clinched its second-consecutive Southern Conference North Division title, defeating Elon 3-1 in the Pete Hanna Center in the team's annual Dig Pink night Nov. 2. The team closes out the regular season with a road to trip to Davidson College and Appalachian State before opening conference tournament play Nov. 17. Learn more.
The Samford football Bulldogs defeated Southern Conference rival Wofford in a thrilling double-overtime game Nov. 3 to cap the university's annual Family Weekend celebration. The Terriers had been leading the conference and were ranked #6 in the national Football Championship Series polls prior to Saturday's game. Learn more.
The men's and women's basketball teams opened their 2012-13 seasons with exhibition wins. For the men's team, it was the highly anticipated debut of new head coach Bennie Seltzer. The Samford women are the two-time defending Southern Conference champions. Regular season play starts this weekend for both teams. Learn more.
