JMC To Host 'Great Reconnect' At Homecoming, Nov. 7

Samford's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication--celebrating its 25th anniversary this fall-- will host a series of special events for department alumni and friends during Homecoming, Nov. 7.

The 'Great Reconnect' events will begin at 11:15 a.m. (at Harry's in University Center) with “Wall of Fame” inductions of Dr. Jon Clemmensen, Ms. Carol Nunnelley and Mr. Randall Williams, honored for their service to, and through, Samford journalism education.

At noon the department will host a barbeque lunch on the quad so JMC alumni and friends from all generations can reconnect and share Samford memories.

In University Center Annex room 108, the department will offer the opportunity to preserve your Samford memories on video (watch a sample here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkmDKVdYTQ4 ).

Also starting at noon, the department will host an open house, with all JMC classrooms open to visitors. JMC room 112 will offer displays of Entre Nous,
billboard-size Crimson montages recalling the years 1985 to 2009 and video clips about the JMC program. The JMC computer lab will be open as well.

After the Homecoming football game vs. Georgia Southern, the department will host an after-party at historic Rucker Place in downtown Birmingham for $10
at the door ($5 for teens and free for kids 12 and under).

Those expecting to attend the barbeque lunch or after-party should let Dr. Dennis Jones know as soon as possible: drjones@samford.edu, (205) 726-2167.
