Clanton To Speak On Democracy and Religion
J. Caleb Clanton, assistant professor of Philosophy at Pepperdine University, will speak on the subject of “The Ethics of Citizenship: Liberal Democracy and Religious Convictions” at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 in Brooks Auditorium, Brooks Hall.
Clanton is the author of Religion and Democratic Citizenship: Inquiry and Conviction in the American Public Square, and editor of the forthcoming book The Ethics of Citizenship: Liberal Democracy and Religious Convictions.
The event, co-sponsored by Samford’s University Fellows Program, Department of Political Science and Department of Philosophy, is free-of-charge and open to the public.
