Samford Orchestra, Soloist To Perform October 14
The Samford University Orchestra will present its fall concert Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital hall.
Dr. Milburn Price will conduct the orchestra of Samford student and faculty musicians.
The program will include two pieces by Handel: "Concerto Grosso in G" for string orchestra, and "Piangero" from Julius Caesar. The latter will feature soprano soloist Sharon L. Lawhon.
Lawhon will also sing with the orchestra on Puccini's "Quando me'n vo" (Musetta's Waltz) from La Boheme.
The program will conclude with Beethoven's "Symphony No. 1 in C Major."
The event is free of charge and open to the public.
