'Sabbath in the City' Program Set Oct. 1-2 at Beeson Divinity School
Samford University's Beeson Divinity School will host a festival of preaching and conference on the topic "Sabbath in the City: The Fourth Commandment in Contemporary Spiritual Formation" Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 1-2, at Hodges Chapel. The program will be held in cooperation with The Lord's Day Alliance and The Academy of Preachers.
Rev. Frank A. Woodson of Mission Birmingham Transformation Strategies will speak in the opening session Monday at 11 a.m. in Hodges Chapel. Following lunch, and during the afternoon, 20 Beeson students will deliver sermons focusing on the theme of this event.
Dr. C. David Keith, interim dean, Townsend School of Music, Mercer University, will lead a Monday evening session at 7:30 p.m. His topic is "When in Our Music God is Glorified."
Dr. Robert Smith, Jr., Beeson professor of divinity, will speak at the closing session Tuesday at 11 a.m.
