Football To Open Fall Practice Thursday
Samford's football team will begin fall practice for the 2009 season Thursday afternoon. The team's first practice is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
The Bulldogs will report to campus Wednesday afternoon between 2 and 4 p.m., following Samford's annual media day. The squad's first team dinner is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Samford cafeteria.
Thursday's first practice will be in shorts and helmets. The team's first day in full pads is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, at 9 a.m. Samford's first day of two-a-day workouts will be Tuesday, Aug. 11, with practices scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The team has scrimmages scheduled for Aug. 15 and 22, both to be held at 9 a.m.
Samford opens the 2009 season on Sept. 5, when the Bulldogs travel to Orlando, Fla., to take on the UCF Knights. Samford's first home game of the 2009 season is scheduled for Sept. 12 against Jacksonville University at 6 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
