Bulldog Bash Postponed

Samford's inaugural Bulldog Bash, originally scheduled for June 20, has been postponed to Sept. 11.

The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Birmingham. Due to the event being held during football season, Florida State head coach and Samford graduate Bobby Bowden will not be able to be the keynote speaker as originally planned.

The Samford Bulldog Club, which is sponsoring the event, is in the process of indentifying a keynote speaker for Sept. 11.

Football Legend Bowden To Speak At ‘Bulldog Bash’ June 20

Florida State University head football coach and Samford alumnus Bobby Bowden `53 will be the keynote speaker for Samford's inaugural Bulldog Bash, to be held Saturday, June 20 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Birmingham.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction to benefit Samford's 17 NCAA athletic programs. Dinner and the featured speaker will follow the auction.

Bowden, who has won two national championships as head coach at FSU, was Little All-American quarterback at Howard College and returned to coach the Bulldogs from 1959-1962, compiling an impressive record of 31-6.

The price of an individual seat at the benefit dinner is $125. Tables of eight are available for $1,500 for Gold Seating and $1,000 for Silver seating.
