Michael Seaman Qualifies For NCAA Championships Again
Samford junior pole vaulter Michael Seaman will represent Samford once again at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, June 8-11. The Bardstown, Ky. native tied for first place Friday in the pole vault preliminaries at the NCAA East First Round in Bloomington, Ind.
Seaman and nine other competitors ranked at the top of the leaderboard after clearing a height of 17-00.75. Those ten competitors will move on to the final meet in Des Moines, Iowa, June 8-11. It will be the second year in a row that Seaman has represented the Bulldogs at the national meet.
Also on Friday, Blaise Carie finished 40th in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. The senior Bulldog posted a time of 9:18.95.
Kyle Kirby also finished 38th in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 182-97.
