Belltower Shifts To Wednesday Publication
Starting today, The Belltower will be published on Wednesday each week. Sean Flynt, Samford’s Electronic News Editor and editor of The Belltower, said the move is part of an ongoing updating of the six-year-old publication.
“We’ve published on Friday since 2003,” Flynt said, “but we fear that in these days of social media and spam our audience’s in-boxes are so overloaded that our Friday announcement of publication is getting buried over the weekend and overlooked on Monday.”
Flynt said the shift to mid-week publication also will help The Belltower provide timely notice of weekend events. “Hopefully, this will give folks neither too little nor too much time to plan to attend a weekend concert, lecture or sporting event.”
The change in publication schedule follows a comprehensive redesign of The Belltower and its E-mail publication announcement.
