Nominations for Young Alumni Award Due June 5
Samford has created a new award to honor outstanding young alumni. "We are looking for that special combination of contribution to community and profession as well as support of the university," said David Goodwin, Director of Alumni and Parents Programs.
The award, to be presented annually during Homecoming, will recognize alumni of up to 15 years post-graduation. The university will present one award in 2009 but up to three in future years.
Noting the number of Samford alumni involved in exciting activities throughout the world, Goodwin said, "I'm sure we'll hear some incredible stories".
Goodwin said this year's nomination deadline will be June 5 in order to have time to recognize the honoree in Homecoming publications.
