Snapshot - Mr. Beeson's Big Idea
Students in Dr. Betsy Dobbins’ and Dr. Larry Thompson's honors seminar created a uniquely Samford sculpture for Earth Day 2009. “Mr. Beeson’s Big Idea” is a found-objects interpretation of the famous statue of Ralph W. Beeson that sits on a bench at the foot of Centennial Walk. The sculpture takes its name from the scavenged lightbulb in its head and celebrates Samford’s recent efforts to “go green”.
