Concert To Showcase Samford's Dance Program
Samford's School of the Arts will present "Impulse," a dance concert, March 25-27 at 7:30 and March 28 at 2:30 in Harrison Theatre.
The concert, sponsored by Michael J. and Mary Anne Freeman, will feature dance styles ranging from modern to hip-hop, and with music by Sigur Ros, Dispatch, and other artists.
Multi-media dances by Samford students Kaci Thomassie and Casi Harris will add a new dimension to Samford's annual dance concert.
The concert also will premiere "Psyche," a one-act ballet choreographed by Samford student Erica Carr to music by Venetian Snares and inspired by the ancient story of Cupid and Psyche.
Psyche will showcase Samford’s newest dance performance group, Dansynthesis, an audition-only group led by Lisa Gibbs and designed to give Samford students performance and teaching opportunities and choreographic experience.
