Samford ranked 45th on the list, based on the percentage of its 2011 graduates who were hired as first-year associates by the 250 National Law Journal firms. The University of Alabama, at number 46, was the only other Alabama school ranked. The University of Pennsylvania ranked first.
Eleven of Cumberland's 157 graduates in 2011 were hired by the top firms.
"We are honored to be included in the National Law Journal's Top 50 list of Go-To Law Schools," said Cumberland Dean John L. Carroll. "Inclusion in the list speaks volumes about the quality of our students and faculty and the depth of the education that Cumberland provides."
