School of the Arts Events to Spotlight Students

Students dominate the School of the Arts calendar over the next week.

Michael J. and Mary Anne Freeman present The Trip to Bountiful starting Feb. 28, and although alumna and local stage legend Margie Bolding takes the lead, you'll see some outstanding student performance and production, too. If you plan to attend the Saturday, March 2, performance, please join us immediately afterward for a reception honoring cast, crew and Guest Artist Bolding, again thanks to the Freemans.

Friday, March 1, brings us the last Choral Vespers service of the season at 5:30 p.m. in Hodges Chapel. The series combines sacred music with sacred places for a uniquely Samford worship experience.

Samford Art Gallery will host the Visual Arts Achievement Program Juried Exhibition March 4-14, featuring the art of Alabama middle and high school students. View the exhibition 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and meet the artists at a March 14 reception in the gallery (4-6 p.m.).

Samford University Orchestra and Student Soloists will perform March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall. Many thanks to Patty McDonald for her sponsorship of the free event!
