School of the Arts to Host Famed Composer Samuel Adler Feb. 22-24
Samford's School of the Arts will host one of America's most prolific composers Feb. 22-24.

Samuel Adler, Professor of The Juilliard School, Professor Emeritus of the Eastman School of Music and Samford's 2011 composer-in-residence will be the focus of several public events.
On Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall, Samford and Patty McDonald will sponsor the Alabama Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster and Friends Composer's Portrait: Samuel Adler. Tickets for the event are $30 and may be purchased online or by calling (205) 251-7727.
On Thursday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. Adler will take part in a talk and Q&A with Samford music majors. He will lead a masterclass with Samford student composers beginning at 1:45 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall, Samford faculty and students will present The Music of Samuel Adler.
The Thursday evening concert is free-of-charge and open to the public.
