Women's Hoops to Hold Pink Zone Game Feb. 14
The Samford women's basketball team will hold its annual Pink Zone game to benefit breast cancer research, on Feb. 14 when the Bulldogs play host to Davidson at 7 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.

Admission is free to the game and the athletics department is running several promotions for the event. The pink jerseys, which the players will wear during the game, will be auctioned.
Luminary dedications are available for a donation of $2. The luminaries will be used to light the walkway to the Hanna Center the night of the game. Luminaries can be purchased in the Samford athletics office.
The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive a pink shaker, and special pink Samford cups will be available at the game with unlimited refills for just $1. Samford's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will also be selling pink t-shirts and silly bands.
The women's basketball program will be selling pink t-shirts in the Samford cafeteria during lunch Feb. 8-11. Samford cheerleaders will be doing Backflips for Breast Cancer, where each cheerleader will raise money for each backflip they do at the game.
Samford will also be hosting a Breast Cancer Survivor Dinner prior to the game. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the Hospitality Suite in the Pete Hanna Center. Food will be provided by Piggly Wiggly. The special guest speaker will be Thelma Brown, who works with the Susan G. Komen For the Cure's Worship in Pink program.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
If you know someone you would like to invite to the dinner, contact Hollie Huey at hhuey@samford.edu or by calling 205-726-4344. Attendees for the dinner must RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 10, to Huey.
