Killer Saved From Execution By Victim's Family To Speak on Death Penalty Jan. 28

The Rev. Billy Moore will speak on the topic of capital punishment Jan. 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the Moot Court Room of Samford's Cumberland School of Law. Moore spent almost 17 years on Georgia’s death row for a murder he admits committing. His death sentence was commuted to life after the victim’s family spoke out against his execution. He was paroled a year later and since then has traveled the country to share his story.

The presentation is jointly sponsored by the law school and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers association.
